In 2026 KEA was awarded its UAV Operating Certificate (UOC) by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, formally adding certified unmanned operations to the company's portfolio.
Flying the DJI Matrice 400 RTK, the new UAV division delivers orthophoto and LiDAR mapping, animal point sampling and asset monitoring for towers, powerlines and pipelines — complementing KEA's crewed survey and patrol services.
The certificate positions KEA as one of the region's few operators able to offer integrated crewed and uncrewed aerial data capture under a single accountable organisation.
