Our affiliate company, Priority Air Ambulance, unveiled proposed new capabilities for an air ambulance service new to Uganda at the Emergency Care Conference held in Jinja during 2–4 August 2019. The Bell 412 that will be part of the three-aircraft air ambulance fleet operating out of Kajjansi was staged at the event with its pilot, ground support, technical and medical crew, alongside two ground ambulances from City Ambulance.
Priority Air Ambulance, Uganda’s pioneer first responder, brings the hospital to the patient when time is critical.
Priority Air Ambulance is registering as an NGO and has teamed up with Kampala Executive Aviation, which provides the air assets and Air Operator Certificate. Flights carry dedicated medical crew and state-of-the-art equipment including a defibrillator, ECG monitor, spinal immobilisation and advanced airway management equipment. The Jinja event was a great success in raising awareness of fast, reliable inter-facility transfers and primary medical response flights.
